San Bernardino County and the Inland Empire are now mandated by the State of California to care for the environment. Watch this page for all the Green News for the Mountain Communities. Some exciting things are coming!

Things we can all do in the garden is reduce our water cost and use by planting drought tolerant plants, mulching, installing weather-based irrigation controllers and watering when the sun goes down.

Some of the County programs are:

v San Bernardino County Green Builder

A voluntary program offering incentives to homebuilders who follow green building practices in new residential construction.

v Free Waivers

The County is waiving building permits for solar and wind-energy generated systems, tankless water heaters and energy-efficient heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems on existing buildings.

v Tax refunds, rebates and other incentives

A new County Web Site, will provide homeowners, businesses and builders energy and conservation tips, as well as links to a variety of existing incentives available for environmentally friendly projects. Visit soon!
